Les Miserables is a 2012 drama musical directed by Tom Hooper. Les Miserables has a screenplay written by William Nicholson after Victor Hugo’s novel bearing the same name.
Les Miserables sets its action in the early 19th century France and includes the period of the French Revolution in the July of 1832.
Les Miserables revolves around a Frenchman, Jean Valijean. This man was imprisoned for stealing bread. This happened under the eye of Inspector Javert.
Jean Valijean gets paroled and in the attempt to rebuilt his life he becomes the mayor of a town. He takes under his protection young Cosette. He is in danger to get captured again by Javert, due to his violation of probation.
