Solomon Kane is a 2009 action adventure film directed by Michael J. Bassett. Solomon Kane has a screenplay developed by Bassett after a Robert E. Howard character.
Solomon Kane follows the path of the captain that gives names the film. This man is a brutally 16th Century killing machine who fights alongside his men for England in many wars.
The film sets its action in the surroundings of a castle from northern Africa. When Solomon Kane attacks this castle he unleashes demonic creatures that pick off his men one by one, leaving him alone.
Though Kane at last manages to escape the challenges ahead of him, he realises that he now must redeem himself by renouncing violence and devoting himself wholly to a life of peace and purity. If he will manage to stay true to this life is yet to be seen.
