The Fighter is a 2010 drama. Micky Ward, is an Irish-American welterweight boxer. He has not had a particularly successful career.
His brother, Dicky, a former boxer, has fallen apart since his early success against Sugar Ray Leonard. He is now being filmed for an HBO documentary.
On the day of the fight, Micky`s opponent is substitute with a boxer that is 18 pounds heavier than him. Micky is losing the fight. He tries to retreat from the world and forms a relationship with Charlene.
After several weeks, his mother arranges another fight for Micky, which shows serious hesitation. Micky mentions that he`s received an offer to be paid to train in Las Vegas.
