The Wolfman - Lawrence Talbot, a renowned Shakespearean actor, is touring London and races to the family`s estate in Blackmoor after being informed of his brother`s death.
He has been estranged from his family for many years since his father, Sir John Talbot sent him to an insane asylum after witnessing his mother`s mysterious death.
Lawrence promises Gwen, his brother`s widow, that he will investigate his brother`s death. Lawrence goes to the gypsy camp on the night of a full moon looking for clues of the murder.
A superhumanly strong wolf-like creature descends on the camp, slaughtering many people. Lawrence is attacked by the creature, who bites him on the shoulder before being chased off by the armed townspeople.
