Anson Mount is an American actor who has appeared in both movies and television shows. Anson Mount has also played Jim Steele on the short-lived NBC series Conviction and appeared in the independent movie Tully with Julianne Nicholson. He currently is starring in the AMC show "Hell on Wheels".

Anson Mount is from the small town of White Bluff, Tennessee. His father, was one of the original contributing editors to Playboy magazine, and his mother was a professional golfer.

His great-great-great grandfather was a Confederate cavalry colonel in the Civil War. Anson Mount attended Dickson County Senior High School in Dickson, Tennessee, The University of the South and Columbia University.
