Anupam Kher is an acclaimed Padma Shri Award winning Indian actor who has appeared in nearly 400 films, and 100 plays. Though mainly appearing in Bollywood films, he has had roles in some films from other nations as well. Anupam Kher has held the post of Chairman of the Censor Board and National School of Drama in India.

After divorcing his first wife, Madhumalati, Anupam Kher married Kirron. Her son, his stepson, Sikander, made his acting debut in a Sanjay Gupta film, Woodstock Villa. His brother Raju is also an actor who appeared in his directorial debut Om Jai Jagadish.
