Arnold Schwarzenegger is an Austrian-born American former professional bodybuilder, actor, model, businessman and politician. Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in Thal, Austria, a small village bordering the Styrian capital Graz.

His parents were the local police chief, Gustav, and Aurelia. His father served in World War II with the German Army. According to Arnold Schwarzenegger, both of his parents were very strict. He grew up in a Roman Catholic family.

On April 26, 1986, Arnold Schwarzenegger married television journalist Maria Shriver, niece of President John F. Kennedy. They have four children: Katherine Eunice, Christina Maria Aurelia, Patrick Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Christopher Sargent.
