Blair Underwood is an American television and film actor. Blair Underwood is perhaps best known as attorney Jonathan R from the drama L.A. Law. Blair has gained critical acclaim throughout his career, receiving numerous Golden Globe Award nominations.

He was born in Tacoma, Washington, the son of Marilyn and Frank. Underwood lived on bases in the United States and Stuttgart, Germany, during his childhood. He attended Petersburg High School. Blair Underwood went on to attend the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
