Owen Wilson is an American actor and screenwriter. Owen Wilson was born to an Irish American family from Massachusetts, he was the middle child, and has two brothers who are also actors, Andrew and Luke. He received his distinctive twice-broken nose during childhood.

Known for his laid back demeanour and easy-going nature, Owen Wilson hit the headlines in 2007 after a supposed suicide attempt following his break-up with actress Kate Hudson. It was later acknowledged that he had been suffering from depression.

Owen Wilson was born to photographer Laura and Robert Andrew, an advertising executive and operator of a public television station. Both of his brothers are also involved in filmmaking.

His family, originally from Massachusetts, is of Irish descent. Owen Wilson attended New Mexico Military Institute and the University of Texas at Austin, where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in English.
